Rhys, a Mitsubishi fan, can trace his love of the brand all the way back to growing up and riding in his Mum's Sigma.
His recent purchase, a one of only twenty Mitsubishi Verada GTVs in extremely rare "Wasp" Yellow paint was a car that was in fact saved from the wrecker!
Rhys, having had the ad brought to his attention by an online enthusiast group he was a part of, quickly snapped up the Verada to use as his new daily. He's since gone about improving it (you'd not recognise it now from the wrecking picture), and he asked me if I was interested in detailing and coating it. As he's currently forced to keep it outside, he wanted it coated to give it some protection and make it easier to maintain.
What he didn't realise is that I, in my previous life as an IT Tech, worked for a not-for-profit and had a Mitsubishi Magna VRX in the same Wasp Yellow. One of about fifty VRXs in that colour made I believe. This one was also a manual, making it even rarer.
When Rhys approached me with the GTV, it brought up some very fond memories of my own car, so needless to say, I was very happy to work on his for him.
The end result is barely recognisable from when this poor thing was at the wreckers. Rhys having effectively save it from a somewhat ignominious demise!

I really do get to work on some amazing cars for equally amazing owners. This 2013 Audi R8 V10 Plus was a recent purchase by a good friend and client. It was the realisation of a dream for him and it was my genuine pleasure to detail it. Eighteen-odd hours of work, involving a full decontamination wash, two stage (in some places three stage) paint correction, topped off with Kamikaze Zipang semi self-healing Professional Coating. The Daytona Grey and carbon accents are now absolutely singing. What a machine!

This is one very special car. Astons always hold a place in my heart but this one is beyond even that.An existing client picked up this little number not long back. It was the same car that was at the Aus GP this year for the launch. As such it has been signed by none other than Daniel Ricciardo himself.It was done over a couple of visits. The front end and other strategic areas were corrected first. It then was taken away to have those areas covered in paint protection film. It then came back to have the film corrected as well as the rest of the car. Then the whole car (inc film) was Opti-Coated

This stunning example of an unmodified R32 GTR was imported a few years ago. It has an incredibly low 22,000 kms on the clock! A car better than this simply won't be found outside of a museum. It's owner, upon receiving the car, went about coating it himself.Now, I'm never ever one to discourage people from giving detailing a go themselves. Everyone starts somewhere, and I applaud those willing to spend the time and effort on their cars. Especially in a society where so many people are time-poor. There is an immense satisfaction that can be gained with achieving results yourself. As well as learning a craft and continuing to improve your skills.By the owner's own admission, his coating effort wasn't great, and whilst I would never put down the efforts of others, he was quite happy for this, in his own words, "to be made an example of". He said he's more than happy for people to learn from this, and that I shouldn't be afraid to write it up. You've got to respect that!
